General Manager – Buying (Household)

About the role

The Home Centre Landmark group is seeking a General Manager for Buying – Household to lead the overall business management of the Soft Goods category in Dubai. The role focuses on driving sales growth, profitability, and strategic product development across the household segment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive category business plans to achieve sales and margin targets.
• Prepare annual merchandise plans, monitor gross margins, and ensure alignment with budgets.
• Analyze market trends and historical data to guide assortment, pricing, and promotion decisions.
• Lead design and development initiatives, ensuring products meet quality standards and budget constraints.
• Build and maintain a robust vendor base, negotiate agreements, and manage order fulfillment.
• Implement cost‑reduction measures through bulk buying and vendor mix optimization.
• Oversee a team of direct reports, set performance KPIs, and conduct appraisals.
• Monitor competition and market dynamics to adjust strategies accordingly.

Required profile

• Proven experience in category management, buying, or merchandising within retail.
• Strong financial acumen with ability to manage budgets, margins, and inventory.
• Leadership skills to develop and motivate a team.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor relationship management abilities.
