Government Relations Officer

About the role

The Government and Regulatory Officer supports Mashreq Bank’s compliance with courts, police, public prosecution and other governmental bodies in the UAE and Qatar. Based in Dubai, the role ensures that all requests and queries are processed accurately, on time and in line with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process UAE court orders and related government requests according to approved procedures.
• Handle Qatar court orders and law‑enforcement agency (LEA) requests within defined service‑level agreements.
• Respond to police letters and enquiries across all UAE emirates.
• Manage correspondence with the Public Prosecution and CID in the UAE.
• Monitor and reply to email enquiries from government entities and stakeholders.
• Execute case processing through the Velocity‑MOFT system where applicable.
• Ensure all communications comply with regulatory instructions and internal policies.
• Track, coordinate and follow up on assigned cases to achieve timely closure.
• Support initiatives that improve operational efficiency and service quality within the unit.
• Coordinate with internal departments (CIBG, RBG, Operations, Head Office) and external government bodies.

Required profile

• Full‑time employee based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
• Reports to the Manager of the Government Relations unit.
• Works closely with branch managers, unit heads and internal departments such as CIBG, RBG, Operations and Head Office.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Velocity‑MOFT case‑management system.
