Senior Associate – Tax Practice

About the role

We are partnering with an international law firm to recruit a Senior Associate for its Tax Practice. The role involves advising clients on a wide range of tax matters and supporting the Litigation team on tax‑related disputes, offering the chance to specialise in a growing area of law.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, international tax structuring and cross‑border transactions.
• Provide guidance on tax planning, structuring and compliance with UAE and international regulations.
• Prepare legal opinions, advisory notes and client updates on evolving tax issues.
• Support the Litigation team on tax disputes, drafting submissions, preparing arguments and liaising with tax authorities.
• Assist with tax aspects of corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions and reorganisations.
• Monitor developments in UAE and international tax laws and share updates with clients and internal teams.
• Collaborate with other practice areas where tax input is required.
• Mentor junior lawyers and trainees on tax work.
• Contribute to business development through client presentations, seminars and thought leadership.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 5‑8 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in a leading law firm or tax advisory practice.
• Strong expertise in UAE and international tax law and advisory.
• Experience assisting with or supporting tax disputes (advantageous).
• Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deliver high‑quality advice under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
