Kitchen Commis (Commis 2) – Dubai

About the role

The Commis 2 supports the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, cooking and assembling dishes, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment in a luxury hotel setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel, and store fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, mix, and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and test foods for proper doneness.
• Monitor food quality, set‑up and break‑down work stations, and serve food in correct portions.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment, and verify appliance and food temperatures.
• Prepare cold dishes and salads.
• Maintain hygiene and safety standards throughout the shift.
• Assist in inventory management and stock rotation.
• Follow company safety and security policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen or food‑preparation experience.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation, portioning and basic cooking techniques.
