Mechanical Draughtsman (MEP) – Dubai

About the role

The MEP Draughtsman will prepare, modify and analyse technical drawings for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and drainage installations on a variety of projects, using advanced drafting software. This position supports Emirates Electrical Engineering’s turnkey solutions for solar rooftops and electrical power projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare schedules for drawing generation in line with MEP project timelines.
• Review tender drawings, assess drafting work and set timelines for detailed and shop drawings.
• Manage drawing‑related work, monitor progress and report regularly.
• Prepare, modify and analyse mechanical, electrical, plumbing and drainage drawings using AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM and MicroStation.
• Coordinate with design managers, estimation engineers, site engineers and project managers to gather inputs and review drawings.
• Interface with client drafting teams for clarifications during project phases.
• Collaborate with the ESCO team to incorporate energy‑saving measures.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years of MEP drafting experience, or a technical certificate with a minimum of 5 years experience.
• Experience preparing MEP drawings for residential, commercial or industrial projects, preferably in the UAE or GCC.
• Prior experience in the ESCO industry is preferred.
