Nursing Faculty (PhD) – Teaching & Research

About the role

The American University in the Emirates seeks a qualified Nursing Faculty member for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The position involves delivering undergraduate and graduate courses in English and Arabic, supporting student learning, and contributing to the university’s research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Teach 12 credit hours per semester in nursing theory, clinical practice, and simulation‑based education.
• Assess student work, provide academic advising, and mentor research projects.
• Participate in departmental committees, curriculum development, and accreditation activities.
• Conduct scholarly research, publish in Scopus‑indexed journals, and engage in community service.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Nursing or a closely related field from an internationally accredited university, completed by the start date.
• Minimum two years of teaching experience at an internationally accredited university.
• At least three peer‑reviewed publications in the last five years, with two indexed in Scopus.
• Valid professional nursing license or registration (preferred).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of nursing theories, evidence‑based practice, and contemporary clinical teaching methods.
• Experience with simulation‑based education and digital teaching technologies.
• Curriculum development and student assessment expertise.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic.
