Resident Engineer – Engineering

About the role

The Resident Engineer will lead the Engineering & Facilities function at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, ensuring operational excellence and exceptional guest experiences. This senior position reports directly to hotel leadership and collaborates closely with Rooms Division, F&B, Housekeeping and Security.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute engineering strategy, objectives and performance standards aligned with brand goals.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, energy management, technical services and compliance with JEMS, health, safety, environmental, fire, life‑safety and HACCP standards.
• Direct capital projects, renovations and facilities upgrades, managing cost, schedule, quality and safety.
• Manage departmental budgets, financial performance and cost‑control initiatives.
• Lead sustainability programmes focused on energy efficiency, waste reduction and environmental stewardship.

Required profile

• Minimum 96 months (8 years) of engineering experience, preferably within hospitality.
• Proven leadership in managing large engineering teams and complex projects.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional hotel departments.
