Sales Assistant – Market Hall (Retail)

About the role

The Sales Assistant works in the market hall area of the IKEA store in Jebel Ali, supporting the shopkeeper with daily operations and delivering exceptional customer experiences. The role focuses on generating sales, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, and ensuring compliance with IKEA standards and policies. The position reports to the shopkeeper and works closely with peers to foster a positive team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Generate sales and meet weekly sales targets in the market hall.
• Greet customers promptly, provide product information, and create a positive first impression.
• Maintain a sparkling clean, organized environment and uphold store standards.
• Ensure product displays are attractive and stocked according to planograms.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in line with IKEA service standards.
• Participate in market hall inventories to ensure accurate stock levels.
• Assist with arranging products, handling stock, and completing duties assigned by the shopkeeper.
• Attend store meetings, adhere to work schedules, and follow all IKEA policies and procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• Minimum of 1 year retail sales experience.
• Physical ability to lift stock items and stand for at least 8 hours.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service orientation.
• Reliability in adhering to schedules and store policies.
