Senior Advisor – Strategic Intelligence Consultant

About the role

The Consultant, Senior Advisor Strategic Intelligence will support the Head of the IFRC Solferino Academy in driving strategic coherence across leadership, foresight, innovation and governance. Working remotely with occasional travel, the role focuses on translating learning and knowledge generation into tangible improvements for National Societies and the IFRC Secretariat.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Academy teams to align leadership, foresight, innovation and governance activities and reinforce strategic coherence.
• Translate the Academy’s vision and three‑year strategy into clear priorities, work plans and measurable outcomes.
• Develop and steer Think‑Tank agendas that inform IFRC strategic priorities and promote strategic foresight.
• Review research and intelligence activities, recommend enhancements for rigor and network reach, and design strategy‑planning sessions for stakeholders.
• Support the design and delivery of capability‑building programmes and embed learning across the global network.

Required profile

• Substantial expertise as a sector leader in humanitarian thought, innovation and global humanitarian issues.
• Significant experience advising executive leaders on strategy, innovation and humanitarian policy.
• Experience with futures and strategic foresight methodologies.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and at least one additional IFRC language.
• Proven capacity to work under tight timelines, manage multiple projects and engage diverse stakeholders.
