Senior Field Service Engineer

About the role

ABB is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to deliver high‑complexity service work on Distributed Control, Safety and Substation Automation Systems. You will work on‑site in Abu Dhabi, providing expert technical support and driving customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute service tasks according to customer orders, ensuring superior experience and retention.
• Perform complex field service activities, diagnose and resolve high‑level technical issues, and provide recommendations both internally and to customers.
• Prepare site work for larger projects, manage subcontractors, coach technicians and supervise complex site operations.
• Identify improvement opportunities in processes and products, and lead corrective actions.
• Collaborate with customers and ABB teams to uncover new service business opportunities.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on field service experience in the automation industry.
• Minimum 5 years working with ABB control systems, especially 800xA, AC800M and Symphony Plus.
• Experience in ICSS and/or PMS/SCMS automation for Oil & Gas or Power & Water markets.
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols and cybersecurity for control systems.
• Passion for customer collaboration and strong communication skills.
