Category Head - Indian Festivals & Seasonal Non-Food

About the role

Genetic Callnet Consultancy is looking for an experienced Category Head to own the Indian Festivals and Seasonal Non-Food category in Dubai. The role covers major festivals such as Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Rakhi and Holi, and focuses on commercial ownership of the category rather than procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Own the category end-to-end across assortment, pricing, margins, sales and profitability.
• Develop product assortments based on festival trends, customer demand and past performance.
• Plan demand and order quantities according to festival calendars, working backwards from festival dates to ensure timely availability.
• Manage vendors, suppliers, pricing and commercial negotiations.
• Track category performance, inventory and margins and adjust the assortment accordingly.
• Manage the white-label candles category, including its assortment and commercial performance.

Required profile

• 5 to 10+ years in Category Management, Buying, Merchandising or Product Management.
• Mandatory experience with Indian festival and seasonal non-food categories.
• Proven experience owning a category commercially, not just placing orders.
• Strong understanding of assortment planning, pricing, margins and demand forecasting.
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills; UAE/GCC experience preferred.
• Ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Diwali, Rakhi, Holi and Ganesh Chaturthi assortments and exposure to seasonal, gifting, home decor or lifestyle categories.
