Duty Manager – Hospital Operations

About the role

The Duty Manager is responsible for ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care by coordinating clinical and non‑clinical resources across the facility. This role provides leadership during each shift and steps in for the Unit Manager or Head of Department when required.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe patient care throughout the shift.
• Activate, coordinate and manage clinical and non‑clinical emergencies.
• Provide operational guidance in the absence of senior managers.
• Maintain clinical quality in line with policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
• Foster a positive patient experience by developing staff and promoting team engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Nursing from a recognised institute (essential).
• Master of Science in Nursing or related field (desired).
• 3‑5 years senior nursing experience, preferably in a private acute‑care hospital.
• Previous experience as Duty Manager, Shift In‑Charge or Nursing Supervisor.

• Comprehensive knowledge of patient care across disciplines and regulatory requirements.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Financial management principles.
• Quality management, governance and risk management best practices.
• Utilisation of relevant clinical equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
