Head of Desk

About the role

As Head of Desk you will lead the commercial performance of our iron ore and concentrates trading activities in the United Arab Emirates. Leveraging an existing book of business and a global network, you will expand the firm’s reach across key growth regions while ensuring disciplined risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for the desk and drive revenue growth.
• Oversee risk limits, trade execution and deal lifecycle management.
• Mentor and develop junior traders, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Maintain and expand relationships with producers, traders and end‑users in LATAM, Africa and other strategic markets.
• Collaborate with senior management to align trading activities with overall business objectives.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of experience in iron ore or concentrates trading.
• Proven ability to bring a portable book of business that can generate immediate revenue.
• Strong global network, especially in Latin America or Africa.
• Demonstrated leadership of a trading desk or similar commercial team.
