Associate Vice President – Learning and Development

About the role

The Associate Vice President – Learning and Development will lead the design and execution of a comprehensive talent development strategy for a dynamic healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures that learning initiatives align with national healthcare standards and support workforce excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an enterprise-wide L&D strategy aligned with organizational and HR objectives.
• Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of clinical and non‑clinical training programs, including e‑learning and simulation‑based solutions.
• Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare education and accreditation standards (DHA, DOH, JCIA).
• Oversee leadership development, high‑potential programs, succession planning and competency frameworks.
• Manage the L&D budget, monitor KPIs, and report learning outcomes to executive leadership.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Education, Healthcare Administration or related field.
• 13+ years progressive L&D experience in healthcare, preferably in the UAE or GCC.
• Proven ability to lead digital transformation in learning, including LMS and virtual platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management, strategic planning and change‑management skills.

Required skills

• Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e‑learning platforms.
• Simulation‑based training and digital learning ecosystems.
• Data analysis for measuring learning effectiveness.
• Knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and AI applications in L&D (preferred).
