Electrical Systems Engineer – Satellite Missions

About the role

As an Electrical Systems Engineer within the Orbitworks Solutions Engineering Team, you will support several satellite programmes simultaneously, each featuring a unique multi‑payload configuration. You will be responsible for integrating power and command protocols between payloads and the spacecraft bus, using Loft’s products, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical power budgets for spacecraft performance.
• Define, manage, and verify electrical requirements in partnership with internal groups and customers.
• Support test procedures and participate in integration and test campaigns at the spacecraft manufacturer’s site.
• Coordinate with satellite electrical configuration, payload interface software, mission engineering, and AIT teams.

Required profile

• Enjoy being the primary contact for electrical technical requirements and delivering quality hardware.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external customers.
• Experience in fast‑paced development environments and small‑satellite assembly, integration, and test campaigns is a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SpaceWire, CAN and RS‑4XX bus protocols.
• Expertise in power allocation and distribution systems, including fault tolerance and derating considerations.
• Familiarity with satellite subsystems such as Thermal, Structural, ADCS and RF Link.
