Executive Director, Surveillance and Financing

About the role

The Executive Director of Surveillance and Financing oversees the delivery of timely and effective financial assistance to member countries while strengthening regional economic surveillance, risk assessment and policy dialogue. The role leads the design and implementation of lending strategies, supports macroeconomic stability through policy-oriented surveillance, and coordinates regional technical committees such as the Council of Arab Central Bank Governors.

Key responsibilities

• Align lending programs with AMF's strategic objectives and oversee the growth of non-financial assistance and externally financed programs
• Monitor lending risk exposure, manage arrears and implement mitigation strategies to prevent defaults
• Lead regional surveillance and research activities and strengthen reporting frameworks using data and analytics
• Develop and oversee policies, programs and regulatory procedures that improve transparency and compliance
• Lead the department's strategy, operational plans, budget and performance monitoring
• Represent AMF in regional and international forums and oversee technical secretariat functions for regional committees
• Partner with HR to attract, develop and retain staff, and coach and evaluate performance

Required profile

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in macroeconomic surveillance, lending operations or economic policy development
• Proven experience designing financial assistance frameworks, regional policy monitoring and multilateral economic cooperation
• PhD in Economics, Public Policy or a related field
• Certifications in fiscal policy, macroeconomic modeling or public financial management are a plus
