HSE Manager

About the role

An experienced and proactive HSE Manager is sought to oversee Health, Safety and Environment operations, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations, industry standards and company policies. The role covers developing and implementing HSE procedures, conducting risk assessments, monitoring workplace safety and promoting a strong safety culture across all activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures and safety management systems
• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations, environmental laws and industry standards
• Carry out site inspections, safety audits, risk assessments and hazard identification
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive measures
• Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks, inductions and awareness sessions for employees and contractors
• Prepare HSE documentation, reports, risk assessments, method statements and emergency response plans
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE and safety equipment, and coordinate emergency drills
• Monitor contractor compliance and liaise with regulators, clients and stakeholders
• Track HSE performance indicators, prepare periodic reports and lead initiatives to reduce accidents and environmental risks
• Ensure safe handling, storage and transport of gas-related materials and equipment, where applicable

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field
• NEBOSH IGC is essential; NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is an advantage
• 3-5 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in gas, oil and gas, industrial or engineering sectors
• Strong knowledge of UAE HSE legislation and industry best practices
• Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, safety audits and emergency response
• Leadership, communication, reporting and problem-solving skills
• UAE industry experience preferred

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
• Ability to train employees and contractors and manage them safely
• Proficiency in preparing HSE reports and maintaining safety documentation
