Land Surveyor – Roads & Infrastructure

About the role

AECOM is seeking a qualified Land Surveyor to support roads and infrastructure projects in Dubai. The role involves ensuring accurate survey execution, compliance with design requirements, and close coordination with construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret project contract documents, drawings, specifications, and authority standards.
• Establish, verify, and maintain primary horizontal and vertical control points, benchmarks, and traverse networks on site.
• Coordinate with the contractor’s surveyor to confirm site benchmarks, layout, and control data before construction starts.
• Check and verify setting‑out works for alignment, levels, and coordinates of roads, utilities, structures, and other civil works.
• Monitor excavation, backfilling, and compaction to ensure compliance with approved grades and tolerances.
• Inspect installation of utilities, chambers, and ducts, confirming correct cover levels and horizontal alignment.
• Conduct topographic and as‑built surveys, ensuring data accuracy and proper submission of as‑built drawings.
• Verify that survey instruments are calibrated and maintained according to QA/QC requirements.
• Assist Resident Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineer in reviewing contractor survey work and issuing site instructions.
• Record survey data, prepare reports, maintain field books, and ensure safety procedures are followed during survey activities.

Required profile

• Ability to read and understand contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Experience establishing and maintaining horizontal and vertical control points.
• Proven capability to coordinate with contractor survey teams.
• Attention to detail in verifying setting‑out and utility installations.
