MEP Draftsman Coordinator – Project Coordination & Drawing Specialist

About the role

The MEP Draftsman Coordinator supports the MEP Project Manager in delivering mechanical, electrical and plumbing projects from start to finish. This role combines technical drawing expertise with on‑site coordination to ensure smooth execution and compliance with client and authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the MEP Project Manager in planning, coordinating and monitoring project activities.
• Review, interpret and modify MEP shop, coordination, IFC and as‑built drawings using AutoCAD.
• Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural, structural and civil drawings to resolve clashes before execution.
• Organise and participate in coordination, technical and progress review meetings, preparing minutes and tracking actions.
• Manage material submittals, shop drawing submissions, RFIs, method statements and obtain necessary approvals.
• Maintain project documentation, drawing registers and ensure proper document control.
• Support BIM/Revit coordination activities and prepare as‑built drawings for handover.
• Track project schedules, milestones, costs, variations and assist in reporting progress to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of UAE/GCC construction experience in MEP coordination and drafting.
• Proven ability to read, interpret and coordinate MEP shop and as‑built drawings.
• Experience preparing authority submission drawings for DEWA, DCD, DM, DDA, RTA or similar UAE authorities.
