Project Director Rail and TBM Construction

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead a large‑scale rail and tunnel boring machine (TBM) construction project in Dubai. This strategic position oversees the entire project lifecycle, from concept through commissioning, ensuring delivery against schedule, budget and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct all project phases – planning, design, construction, and commissioning – aligning with organizational objectives.
• Develop and manage comprehensive budgets, financial forecasts and cost‑control measures.
• Establish and maintain relationships with government agencies, regulators, contractors and key stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, planners and support staff.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, implementing contingency strategies as needed.
• Monitor progress against schedules and KPIs, taking corrective actions when required.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, safety standards and environmental requirements.
• Prepare and present detailed project reports and recommendations to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading complex rail or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership and decision‑making abilities in multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in budget management and financial oversight.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting to senior executives and boards.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
