Psychiatrist – Specialist / Consultant

About the role

The hospital is seeking a qualified Psychiatrist Specialist/Consultant to provide comprehensive mental health care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role involves assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, history taking, and diagnostic testing.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of disorders such as mood, anxiety, psychotic, and neurocognitive conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, and adjust therapy as needed.
• Provide psychotherapy (CBT, DBT, psychodynamic) and coordinate additional therapeutic modalities.
• Recommend and oversee advanced interventions like ECT, TMS, or other brain‑stimulation techniques.
• Ensure continuity of care through follow‑up appointments, referrals, and collaboration with other healthcare providers.
• Maintain accurate medical records, discharge summaries, and adhere to confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Participate in teaching, clinical audits, and departmental quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MBBS with MD/DNB or equivalent in Psychiatry.
• DHA license/eligibility as a Specialist.
• Minimum 5 years of post‑specialization experience in a busy UAE hospital.
• Strong experience in inpatient psychiatry, crisis intervention, and multidisciplinary care.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and a patient‑centered approach.
• Fluency in Arabic is essential.
