Senior Commissioning Engineer (Telecom) – Offshore Projects

About the role

Penspen is urgently seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer (Telecom) to lead commissioning activities on offshore oil & gas projects, including Wellhead Towers, subsea cable and pipeline developments, and brownfield modifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute telecom commissioning for offshore platforms, Wellhead Towers, jackets, topsides and brownfield facilities.
• Develop and implement commissioning strategies, execution plans, dossiers and hand‑over sequences.
• Coordinate between engineering, construction, vendors, commissioning teams, operations and clients.
• Verify communication interfaces between offshore facilities and onshore control centres and manage cut‑over and migration activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical or Communication Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience with at least 5 years in offshore telecom commissioning.
• Previous experience on offshore platforms, Wellhead Towers, subsea fiber‑optic systems and brownfield projects.
• Prior work with ADNOC offshore projects or PMC/EPC environments is an advantage.

Required skills

• Telecom system commissioning (IP telephony, PABX, intercom, data & network, radio communication, safety & security).
• Subsea fiber‑optic communication systems.
• Preparation of Commissioning Execution Plans, systemisation and turnover packages.
• Knowledge of international standards and project specifications for offshore telecom.
