Accountant - Travel Agency

About the role

VOLO Travel & Tourism is hiring an Accountant to manage and control the day-to-day accounting of its internal travel agency, part of ZMI Holdings. The role works closely with the Travel Operations and Finance teams to keep financial records accurate, reconciliations timely and supplier and customer accounts properly managed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting for air tickets, hotels, visas, transportation and other travel services.
• Reconcile BSP statements, Amadeus/GDS sales, airline transactions, refunds and ticketing reports.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and corporate customer accounts.
• Monitor supplier credit limits, prepaid/top-up accounts and outstanding balances, and resolve discrepancies.
• Process ticket refunds, reissues, cancellations, voids, penalties and service fees.
• Monitor and reconcile airline commissions, incentives, overrides and other agency income.
• Prepare invoices, credit notes, debit notes, receipts and payment documentation, and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly sales, revenue, receivables, payables and reconciliation reports, and support month-end and year-end closing.
• Ensure proper documentation of travel transactions, support UAE VAT compliance and audits, and coordinate with airlines, suppliers, GDS providers and banks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 4-5 years of accounting experience in a travel agency or travel management company.
• Experience with TRAACS accounting software, BSP reconciliation and airline accounting.
• Knowledge of airline ticketing, refunds, reissues, cancellations, commissions and service fees.
• Preferred: corporate travel agency experience, high-volume airline transactions, IATA/BSP knowledge and ability to spot and fix financial discrepancies.
