Accountant (UAE VAT, Month-End Closing and ERP Support)

About the role

This position covers day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations and month-end and year-end closing. It also involves handling UAE VAT, supporting audits and helping with ERP/accounting software implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting: AP, AR, general ledger and bank reconciliations
• Prepare and issue sales invoices, credit notes and billing documents; review supplier invoices and expense claims
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
• Prepare monthly financial and management reports
• Handle UAE VAT calculations, reconciliations and VAT return preparation
• Support month-end and year-end closing, and coordinate with auditors
• Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring and financial analysis
• Support ERP/accounting software implementation, including chart of accounts, opening balances, workflows and data migration, and train users
• Improve accounting processes and internal controls

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field
• 3-5 years of UAE accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and FTA requirements
• Good understanding of AP, AR, GL, reconciliations and financial reporting
• Experience with accounting / ERP software; knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax is an advantage
• Attention to detail, analytical ability, good communication and organisation, and ability to work independently and meet deadlines
