Biology Teacher - Immediate Start

About the role

PostADNOC Schools is recruiting Biology Teachers for an immediate start at ADNOC School, Ruwais Campus in the Western Region (Al Dhafra) of Abu Dhabi. The school follows the Massachusetts State Curriculum, which leads to the American High School Diploma, and is part of the Aldar family of schools.

Key responsibilities

• Create a climate for learning, identify clear objectives and set challenging, well-paced lessons
• Identify SEN or very able students and meet their needs through differentiation
• Use assessment for learning, performance data and key indicators to plan and deliver differentiated lessons
• Maintain discipline under the Behaviour for Learning Policy and encourage punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework
• Use varied teaching strategies, effective questioning, and learning resources including ICT
• Mark work at least once every two weeks, assess progress systematically and record it
• Assess students as required by examination bodies and prepare informative reports for parents
• Take part in subject development, keep subject knowledge up to date through CPD and attend professional development workshops
• Undertake additional duties as required by the Principal or Vice Principal

Required profile

• Fully qualified teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Science, Biology or a related subject, with PGCE or another teacher qualification
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in the related field
• Experience of the American curriculum and of students for whom English is an additional language
• Commitment to an extensive enrichment programme and recent, consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities
• Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services or Police check
