Head of Art - Yasmina British Academy (Term 2 Start)

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Head of Art for Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi, starting in Term 2 2027. The post covers teaching, lesson planning, assessment and pastoral support, and runs a weekly extra-curricular activity (ECA) each term.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons that inspire students to succeed, working with colleagues to plan sessions that meet curriculum requirements
• Act as form tutor and support the pastoral needs of students
• Organise classroom provision, learning resources and displays, and present sessions that cater to the whole ability range
• Observe and assess children in line with the Assessment Policy, use assessment data to inform planning and intervention, and give parents feedback at conferences
• Manage classes effectively, follow the Behaviour Policy and act as a positive role model
• Work with curriculum support staff, take part in school events and communicate with parents and carers
• Run a weekly ECA each term

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related subject with PGCE or equivalent
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in the English National Curriculum
• Experience in more than one international school is desirable
• Strong interpersonal skills, resilience and commitment to continuing professional development

Required skills

• Clear understanding of the British curriculum
• Experience teaching the UK National Curriculum
• Graphic design experience is highly beneficial
