Consultant Emergency Medicine

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant Emergency Medicine Physician with American Board Certification to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The role involves delivering high-quality, patient‑centered emergency care in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients in the Emergency Department.
• Lead rapid assessment, resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill or injured patients, including major trauma and acute coronary syndromes.
• Perform advanced emergency procedures such as endotracheal intubation, advanced airway management, vascular access, procedural sedation and emergency interventions.
• Interpret diagnostic investigations including ECG, X‑rays, CT scans, laboratory results and point‑of‑care ultrasound (POCUS).
• Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents and other clinical team members.
• Provide clinical leadership during mass‑casualty incidents, disaster response and major emergencies.

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree and completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency.
• American Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM) – mandatory.
• Minimum 5‑10 years post‑specialisation clinical experience in Emergency Medicine, preferably in high‑volume or tertiary‑care settings.
• Eligible for DHA Consultant Emergency Medicine licence in Dubai.
• Excellent clinical judgment, leadership and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Advanced airway management and endotracheal intubation.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – highly desirable.
• Procedural sedation and emergency procedural skills.
• Point‑of‑care ultrasound (POCUS) and interpretation of ECG, X‑ray and CT imaging.
