Consultant – Maternal Fetal Medicine (Qassim)

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant in Maternal Fetal Medicine to provide advanced, evidence‑based care for high‑risk pregnancies. The role involves comprehensive prenatal diagnostics, fetal imaging, and multidisciplinary coordination to ensure optimal outcomes for mothers and babies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead management of high‑risk pregnancies, including maternal medical complications, fetal anomalies, multiple gestations, and preterm birth risk.
• Perform and interpret advanced fetal imaging such as detailed anomaly scans, fetal echocardiography, Doppler studies, and growth assessments.
• Conduct prenatal diagnostic procedures including amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), and fetal sampling when indicated.
• Provide expert counselling to families regarding fetal conditions, genetic risks, and management pathways.
• Collaborate with neonatology, genetics, radiology, anesthesia, and other specialties to coordinate care and intra‑uterine interventions.
• Document, report, and follow up on all MFM cases, contributing to quality improvement and patient‑safety initiatives.
• Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and sonographers; participate in on‑call duties.
• Engage in research, audits, and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Subspecialty certification or fellowship in Maternal‑Fetal Medicine from a recognized international institution.
• Minimum 3–5 years post‑fellowship experience in a tertiary‑level obstetric service.
• Demonstrated expertise in advanced fetal imaging and high‑risk pregnancy management.
