Design Engineer – ASME BPVC (Pressure Vessels & Heat Exchangers)

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer with strong knowledge of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) to join our engineering team in Abu Dhabi. The role will focus on the design and engineering of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks and related static equipment for the oil & gas sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3‑D designs and calculations for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, skids and packages in accordance with ASME Section VIII Divisions 1 and 2.
• Perform stress analysis, material selection and thickness calculations to ensure compliance with the BPVC.
• Prepare and review technical documents, drawings, specifications, Material Take‑Off (MTO) and Technical Data Sheets (TDS).
• Coordinate fabrication, assembly, inspection and testing activities, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and profit targets.
• Review tender and contract documents, develop project plans and liaise with internal departments and subcontractors.
• Generate and approve engineering deliverables such as design calculations, method statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
• Represent the company in client meetings and ASME audits, obtaining necessary approvals.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience designing pressure vessels and heat exchangers to ASME BPVC standards.
• Strong understanding of stress analysis, material properties and code compliance.
• Ability to produce accurate calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication skills for client and third‑party interaction.
