EPLAN Design Automation Engineer

About the role

Eaton is looking for an EPLAN Design/Automation Engineer in Dubai, a hub of its Middle East operations. The engineer handles end-to-end engineering, quotation and technical clarification of custom pre-wired distribution boards, with a strong focus on Bidmanager/EPLAN-based engineering and digitalised workflows. The role supports the EEC Developer so that engineering logic, macros and data are fit for automated, rule-based engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain engineering drawings in EPLAN Electric P8 and Pro Panel, and develop and maintain standardised macros for schematics and layout design.
• Support the EEC (Eplan Engineering Configuration) developer by providing validated engineering logic, rules and constraints, and by defining and validating construction kits, options, variants and dependencies.
• Work with the EEC Developer to test, validate and improve automated engineering outputs, and take part in correction loops for data quality and macro behaviour.
• Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Product Management and Digital Engineering teams, and with stakeholders such as the cable machine production team to integrate wiring machines with EPLAN.
• Promote the adoption of Bidmanager, EPLAN and EEC, and identify ways to reduce manual engineering effort.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnics or equivalent technical education.
• 4+ years of experience planning and engineering custom pre-wired distribution boards.
• Experience in ETO environments and working with sales and manufacturing teams.
• Fluent English; German is an advantage.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Bidmanager, EPLAN Electric P8 and Pro Panel; smart wiring is a strong advantage.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 61439 and other local and international LV standards.
• Advanced CAD skills, understanding of engineering data structures and macros.
• Basic understanding of digitalised engineering workflows and automation concepts; working knowledge of SAP and CRM is an advantage.
