HVAC Technician

About the role

Raffles The Palm Dubai, a five-star luxury hotel on Palm Jumeirah, is looking for an HVAC Technician reporting to the Engineering Supervisor / Duty Engineer. The technician carries out heating, ventilation and air-conditioning installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting so that all systems run efficiently, safely and in line with the hotel's requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the Duty Engineer / Supervisor on daily progress and work orders; attend to all A/C complaint reports daily, giving guest-room trouble priority
• Carry out preventive maintenance and the annual maintenance programme with the Duty Engineer and peers
• Follow safety rules, departmental procedures and instructions, and complete other tasks assigned by the supervisor
• Perform guest room maintenance according to schedule and inspect refrigeration equipment regularly
• Fill the daily refrigeration log sheet and record temperatures
• Work with electricians on electrical work for functions and parties, and assist colleagues when requested
• Keep tools in good condition, the workplace tidy, and manage HVAC stock and stores
• Take part in other projects as required and uphold Raffles brand standards

Required profile

• Secondary school plus technical college or equivalent
• At least 5 years of air-conditioning or refrigeration installation or maintenance experience in industrial/commercial projects; luxury hotel or hospital experience preferred
• Good all-round practical trade skills, including fabrication, installation and maintenance
• Ability to do gas and arc welding
• Good command of English

Required skills

• Able to read building services, air-conditioning, refrigeration and electrical drawings
• Fault finding and repair of air-conditioning and building control systems; good electrical knowledge
• Knowledge of BMS systems
• Experience with reciprocating chillers, air-handling plant and cold rooms
• Understanding of water treatment techniques and handling of chemicals
