Materials Inspector – Construction Quality Control

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Materials Inspector to join its Dubai team. You will be responsible for testing and inspecting incoming and on‑site materials to ensure they meet project specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all material tests and sampling on site, witnessing laboratory and in‑situ tests performed by contractors or third‑party testers.
• Coordinate with the Work Inspector to approve testing work and address any concerns.
• Perform efficient sampling and testing to avoid delays to contractor operations.
• Conduct regular checks of delivered materials for conformance with approved sources or suppliers.
• Support quality control and quality assurance activities and assist senior inspectors and engineers in material review, approval, testing, and acceptance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or Civil Engineering graduate) with at least 5 years of experience on roads, bridges, concrete, and utilities projects.
• Ability to read and interpret working drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, and method statements.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with the project team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using computer technology for data access, record keeping, and report generation, including project‑specific engineering and construction software.
• Technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, quality control, and quality assurance processes.
