This is a hands-on, autonomous role with minimal direction.
Key responsibilities
- Own and publish the multi-year product strategy and roadmap, grounded in customer usage, billing and competitive evidence.
- Prioritize the product backlog so engineering focuses on work that drives revenue and retention.
- Grow existing revenue lines (KYB onboarding, continuous screening, due diligence reporting) to meet ARR targets with Sales and Customer Success.
- Introduce new propositions such as the Counterparty Passport directory and embedded compliance, from business case through pilot to paying customers.
- Own pricing and packaging, protecting margin and simplifying the commercial conversation.
- Translate regulatory obligations and customer risk policy into product requirements with compliance specialists and external counsel.
- Act as senior product voice with enterprise customers, prospects and partners, supporting complex compliance-led deals.
- Define the entity, counterparty and screening data strategy, including coverage, sourcing, quality and match accuracy.
- Establish and report portfolio metrics (adoption, retention, revenue, screening accuracy, false positive rate).
- Mentor less experienced product colleagues and raise the standard of product management.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Law, Computer Science or a related discipline; MBA or Master's a plus.
- Professional financial crime or compliance certification (ICAD, ACAMS CAMS or equivalent) a strong plus.
- 10+ years of professional experience, including at least 6 in product management and 3+ at lead or principal level on a revenue-bearing product line.
- Substantial experience in banking, payments or financial services, ideally in financial crime compliance or RegTech.
- Proven track record of moving a compliance, risk or data product from strategy to commercialization.
- Experience owning pricing and packaging for B2B products and working with enterprise Compliance, Risk and Legal functions.
- Experience in an agile, remote-first, geographically distributed engineering environment; maritime, shipping or trade finance experience is a strong plus.
Required skills
- Deep knowledge of AML/CFT, KYC/KYB, sanctions regimes (OFAC, EU, UN, UK OFSI), PEP and adverse media screening.
- Understanding of GDPR, ISO 27001, record retention and auditability.
- Data literacy: interrogating product, usage and billing data directly (SQL or BI tools).
- Technical fluency to discuss APIs, integrations, data models and screening pipelines with senior engineers.
