Project Finance Specialist

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group headquartered in the UAE and based in Abu Dhabi, is looking for a Project Finance Specialist. The role monitors project financial performance (revenue, costs, margins, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and financial risk) and provides financial insights to support project and business decisions. It also covers project accounting, IFRS 15 revenue recognition, financial closing and audits, and process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project financial performance, including revenue, costs, margins, cash flow and key financial risks
• Perform project financial analysis, margin reviews, latest estimates, cost-to-complete assessments and forecasting
• Analyse budget and forecast variances, identify financial exposures and margin improvement opportunities
• Provide financial insights to Project Managers and Operations, and assess the financial impact of contract variations, change orders, claims and commercial developments
• Prepare project financial reports and support financial alignment across EDGE entities and stakeholders
• Apply IFRS 15 to project contracts and coordinate project financial closing (revenue, costs, accruals, provisions, WIP and contract balances)
• Review project accounting records and reconciliations, reconcile SAP with project P&Ls and financial reporting, and prepare technical accounting documentation for internal and external audits
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and control weaknesses with Shared Services and Controllership
• Support SAP Project Systems governance and improve project accounting and reporting processes

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in project finance, project accounting, financial controllership or related roles
• Experience in project-based environments, preferably with complex contracts and multi-entity operations
• Practical experience in financial closing, IFRS reporting, financial analysis and audit support
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
• English proficiency is required

Preferred qualifications

• ACCA, CPA, CMA or equivalent professional qualification
