QC Inspector – Welding

About the role

The QC Inspector – Welding will control quality activities for welding disciplines on large‑scale oil, gas and petrochemical projects. You will ensure work complies with international codes, project specifications and Samsung E&A’s quality management system.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain inspection and test plans (ITP) and inspection matrices for welding activities.
• Perform inspections and tests, record results and verify conformity with quality requirements.
• Identify potential risks, recommend preventive actions and manage non‑conformance reports (NCRs).
• Coordinate inspections with clients and act as QC Engineer in the supervisor’s absence.
• Track quality performance indicators and ensure lessons learned are applied.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of QA/QC inspection experience on medium to large oil/gas, petrochemical or power plant projects.
• Experience working with EPC companies in the GCC region.

Required skills

• Welding inspection certification – AWS CWI, TWI CSWIP 3.1 WI or equivalent.
• Mechanical inspection knowledge – API 510, 570, 653.
• Coating inspection – SAEP‑316 Level II, NACE CIP, SSPC PCI or equivalent.
• Non‑destructive testing – ASNT Level II (or III).
• Proficiency with inspection matrices, ITP preparation and quality documentation.
