Railway Operations Planner / Transit Service Analyst

About the role

We are looking for an analytical and service‑oriented Railway Operations Planner / Transit Service Analyst to support railway scheduling, service planning and performance monitoring. The role works closely with operations control, infrastructure teams and transport authorities to develop efficient timetables and improve passenger experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain railway operating plans, service schedules and transit timetables based on demand and capacity.
• Analyse passenger volumes, travel patterns and seasonal trends to optimise frequency and connectivity.
• Coordinate timetable planning with train operators, station management and infrastructure teams.
• Monitor performance indicators such as on‑time performance, delays and load factors, and prepare analytical reports.
• Support contingency planning for disruptions, equipment failures and special events.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Railway Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Relevant experience in railway operations, transit scheduling or transport analytics.
• Strong analytical thinking, numerical reasoning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint.
• Transport planning software or railway scheduling systems.
• Data‑visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
