Waiter / Waitress

About the role

Bab Al Shams Desert Resort, part of the Rare Finds collection, is looking for a waiter or waitress to serve food and beverages in its outlets (restaurants, bars, room service, pool restaurant). The role covers courteous, professional and efficient service in line with performance standards, with rotation across the Food & Beverage division or other hotel departments as assigned.

Key responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages to guests and introduce menus and specials
• Take orders and post them correctly into Micros
• Check tables, trays and trolleys for cleanliness and proper setting
• Ask about special dietary or allergy needs and pass them to the F&B manager or culinary team
• Handle money and guest charges accurately and deal with guest complaints through supervisors
• Follow the Standard Operating Manual, HACCP standards and opening/closing procedures
• Keep the workplace clean, control par stock and report discrepancies in food and beverage costs
• Report for duty on time in uniform, attend briefings and meetings, and adapt to rotation

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a Food & Beverage vocational certificate or diploma
• HACCP certification
• 1-2 years in a similar position in a five-star hotel, or 6-12 months of related experience or training
• Initiative, attention to detail, teamwork, effective communication, flexibility and patience
