Learning & Development Manager – Retail

About the role

The Learning & Development Manager will lead the competence development agenda for Al‑Futtaim Retail, ensuring the right leadership and skills are in place to achieve business objectives. This role partners closely with business leaders, HR Business Partners and the Al‑Futtaim Learning Centre to drive talent growth, succession planning and Emiratisation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic support for talent identification, development and placement across back‑office and store functions.
• Leverage Al‑Futtaim Learning Centre and Inter‑brand Training College programmes to build leadership and competency capabilities.
• Design and implement succession plans, individual development plans and talent review processes, including 9‑box grid assessments.
• Collaborate with acquisition, HRBP and store L&D teams to align selection, training budgets and development programmes with business needs.
• Drive utilisation of learning tools such as iGrow and monitor training outcomes, reporting on progress and achievements.
• Conduct annual business needs analysis and adapt L&D programmes to support corporate values, Emiratisation and regional growth.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources, Psychology or Business Management; CIPD qualification desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in training, with at least 12 months in a training management role and 12 months as a Store L&D.
