Automotive Service Advisor

About the role

The Service Advisor acts as the main link between customers and the service department, ensuring clear communication and smooth vehicle maintenance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, identify service needs, and document vehicle issues.
• Explain recommended services, repairs, and costs in understandable terms.
• Coordinate with technicians to schedule and complete work promptly.
• Prepare accurate service orders detailing labor, parts, and pricing.
• Provide regular status updates to customers and resolve any complaints.
• Communicate with parts department to secure required inventory.
• Maintain warranty and service records, and follow up post‑service for satisfaction.
• Upsell additional services and products to enhance revenue.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in automotive customer service.
• Strong knowledge of automotive maintenance and common vehicle issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with automotive service software.
